Many passengers were killed on contact, but several people survived. They only had rations for a short time. When they learned through their transistor radio that the search effort for their plane had been aborted, two team members tried to cross the Andes in search of civilization. A young medical student warned them that if they wanted to survive until help arrived they must eat the flesh of their dead compatriots. When the trekkers who succeeded in reaching Chile returned with help some time later, 16 had been kept alive through cannibalism, and 29 had died from the accident, the avalanche, and the cruelty of the weather. Reviews for Alive
Recriação fiel do trágico acidente ocorrido em 72, o filme explora interessantes questões morais e é eficaz ao dramatizar a luta daquele pequeno grupo por sua sobrevivência.
Although written in a fairly pedestrain fashion, the movie does a good job of raising the "What would you do?" issues. Me, I'd be chomping blindly, hoping to ingest the dead first.
An overlooked gem, made even more powerful by the fact that it is based on a factual incident.
The picture, the sound, and above all, the outstanding true story, make Alive a must-see
There are better real-life disaster flicks out there... and the flesh looks remarkably like chicken.
