Movie Info

This is the third version since 1923 of the Charles Dickens' classic David Copperfield. David (Robin Phillips) recalls his story in the form of flashbacks. Richard Attenborough plays Mr. Tungay, Edith Evans is Aunt Betsy and Ralph Richardson plays Tungay's minion Micawber, with Laurence Olivier as Mr. Creakle, and Michael Redgrave as Mr. Peggotty. Although there are some fine performances, it won't make anyone forget the definitive 1935 version from director George Cukor.
