It's rare to see this kind of care expended on any movie; on a family picture, it's a small miracle.

Reviews for Babe
It has been so long since I've genuinely cared about movie characters in a lighthearted story like this that I nearly wept with joy.
Through a mixture of imaginative storytelling, impressive animatronics, and irresistible cuteness, Babe casts a spell over all viewers -- young, old, or somewhere in between.
A little moral masterpiece with its honoring of the values of hospitality, empathy and service of others.
Babe is a movie made with charm and wit, and unlike some family movies it does not condescend, not for a second.
This reviewer for one, hasn't been able to face a pork chop in the months since, and is still laughing at the vibrant joyousness of this delicious comic fable.
The world of Babe isn't a seamless one, but it's surely inviting and rewarding.
Unlike subsequent talking-animal pictures, Babe is a movie in which the human leads matter as much as the animals, or more so.
One of those rare family films that refuses to talk -- or rather write -- down to the viewer.
Babe provides a stunning revisionist take on barnyard politics, and may change the whole way we view pigs politically.
Though the filmmakers romanticize farm life, they don't sugarcoat the realities.
The underlying tricks are never allowed to upstage the story in all its humble sweetness.
All aspects of the movie are top-notch, especially the digital and animatronic effects used to bring the animals to life.
A dazzling family entertainment with enormous charm that utilizes breathtaking technical innovation.
