Jerry (Gary Cooper) and Toni (Carole Lombard) are a husband and wife living off the money he makes as a jewel thief. But their carefree lifestyle comes to a halt when Jerry is forced to re-take custody of his daughter Penny (Shirley Temple), whom he had deposited with relatives. Toni sees the little girl as a chance to force Jerry to give up his criminal ways, but he merely sees her as a nuisance...at first, anyway. With Cooper playing against type, the perfect comic timing of Lombard, and the considerable charm of Temple, NOW AND FOREVER is classical Hollywood at its most entertaining. [More]
