Critic Review - Washington Post

The wholesome pup's poker face alone, however, hardly accounts for the film's failure to thrill. Damon's character doesn't really have that much stake in the story's outcome.

If Damon's character lost the poker head to head KGB's muscle would have had him killed. Since he won he got out of debt with a very dangerous Russian mobster. How does this constitute having little state in the story's outcome?

The whole story is about his character and the stake he has in the outcome..right??? Wake up!! Did you go see Little Women or something instead?? "in the poker game of life, women are the rake"!
