A country-club member takes a club employee under her wing in this cagey formula thriller that exploits homosexuality better than murder-mystery clues.

Adrien Williams (LORI HEURING) has spent time at a psychiatric hospital, learning to come to terms with a troubled past. Nearly recovered and on the recommendation of her doctor (DANIEL HUGH KELLY), Adrien has a new life awaiting her. She is about to be released from medical care and will begin a job on the staff of a posh country club.
Adrien is looking for a quiet, anonymous life as she begins to re-enter society. But she is too beautiful and self-possessed to be overlooked by the "in crowd" at the club - a clique of attractive, wealthy young people led by Brittany Foster (SUSAN WARD), their charismatic leader. Brittany takes Adrien under her wing, showing her the benefits of the privileged life and introducing her to other members of her inner circle - including the object of Brittany's affection, tennis pro Matt Curtis (MATTHEW SETTLE). But when Matt shows an interest in Adrien, Brittany perceives a threat to her ranking as the group's leader - and reveals a sinister side. Soon, Adrien realizes that Brittany and her pack of friends will do anything to protect their group - and the lethal secrets they harbor.

Reviews for The In Crowd
The In Crowd is one of those obscure features that a distributor sneaks into the summer marketplace when no one is looking.
Porno theater patrons who stumble into this pic purely for its endless landscape of girlie grillwork will get their money's worth.
There's no way I'll be able to explain all the cheesy goings-on in this one little note.
A teen screamer with enough implants for the boys and enough bitchiness for the girls to leave its target demographic lusting and screaming happily.
Overall, pic feels cheap and by-the-book, with a dull, dark look and tech credits that seldom rise above the so-so.
It seems to think it knows something we don't, which makes it just as obnoxious as the over-privileged, over-sexed, over-boozed world of beautiful people it deigns to let us in on.
It's so bad that even the kids, who (let's face it) aren't a very discriminating audience, were hooting at it during an opening-day screening.
It's fairly slow-moving, and after a long buildup, the promised thrills never arrive.
Stone the crows! Or is that flog the dead horse? Either way, this is cobblers.
Brittany's badness is so fantastic that it's hard to care much whether she gets caught or if she kills her clueless prey or wins the useless Matt. Really, they all just deserve each other.
There was no advance screening for this movie, so I actually had to pay to see this one myself. Don't make my mistake, because I'll never see that eight dollars ever again!
As much as I did get into some of the story's original setup, I couldn't help but predict every coming moment as the film stepped forward.
