COMING SOON TO HOME VIDEO In Erick Zonca's powerfully nihilistic 63-minute short, THE LITTLE THIEF, a young man who has stopped caring about everything--his drab but decent suburban life in France, his job in a local bakery, his mildly devoted girlfriend--runs off with a group of delinquent boys. They hang around a boxing club and do odd jobs for a group of older boys who pay them. Somehow, for the self-destructive protagonist, this life is better than the one that he left. But, as the film rolls, under Zonca's ruthless and piercing direction, this young man quickly gets his just deserts. [More]
