The film delivers on its admittedly modest mission -- to painlessly effect a pop star's transition to movie actor -- despite being not very subtle.

Kevin (LANCE BASS) has everything going for him, but his lifelong lack of confidence keeps him from recognizing love and happiness - even if it's sitting next to him. When Kevin meets the girl of his dreams, Abbey, on Chicago's "L" train, they connect immediately but he lets this golden opportunity slip away by not having the courage to ask her for her name and number.
Unable to find her, or forget her, Kevin and his buddies launch a massive campaign to locate Abbey. In the process he becomes Chicago’s poster boy for lost love and the target of every young woman’s affections. But the fates that brought Kevin and Abbey together on the "L" seem determined to reunite them, revealing that love will give you a second chance if you're willing to put yourself ON THE LINE.

Reviews for On the Line
Things get more and more saccharine just about every time anyone opens their mouth.
You'd probably be better off checking out Serendipity or any other of the 752 romantic comedies released in the past couple of years.
Less a romance than a feature-length plug for 'N Sync and its personalities.
With wide-eyed innocence and without a visible smidgen of acting talent, Bass smiles his way through the movie.
Certainly, you could find far more unpleasant ways to while away 85 minutes.
If any of these characters had even a double-digit IQ, there'd be no movie.
Lance Bass in his debut performance overdoses the audience with too much wide-eyed innocence and enthusiasm.
It is faux-wacky, thoroughly bland and predictable, and possessed of no emotion whatsoever.
From the disgruntled parent/movie critic's point of view, we begin and end with the understanding that this is an eighty-minute long commercial for ten-year old girls.
Abominably written, directed and acted...wretched from first stop to last.
in case there is anyone out there who is considering going to this movie for any reason other than its N’Sync connection: don’t bother.
Apparently, director Eric Bross didn't care about lifelessness, cliches or Bass's Hallmark card-thin talents, because this movie is on autopilot.
A slight, cute charmer that, as far as pop-singers-turned-actors goes, is infinitely superior to the hideous Glitter and the even more wretched Spice World.
Harmless romantic and musical hijinks abound, and sentimentality prevails.
On the Line tries too hard to be everything to everyone. And as the saying goes, when you try to please everyone, you end up pleasing no one.
