A good movie. It followed the basic plot alright, and yet lacked in the area that Jago wasn't as sinister or evil as Iago and in the end Jago got all he wanted and no one knew the truth. However not so in the book. Not that I'm saying the movie had to follow the book exactly but it is interesting how they decided to

This adaptation of Othello in modern vernacular speech is interesting and thoroughly entertaining, especially in its slow development of Othello and Desdemona's relationship, but it would be a lot more interesting if it didn't ape the Kenneth Branagh adaptation so broadly.
