Enough may pander to our basest desires for payback, but unlike many revenge fantasies, it ultimately delivers.

They marry and have a child, but Slim's happiness is soon lost when she discovers that her husband has a mistress. When confronted, Mitch becomes abusive and proceeds to lay down controlling laws for Slim. As the abuse grows worse, Slim realizes that fleeing is her only path to freedom. Mitch's determination becomes evident as he tracks Slim down, terrorizes her, and uses the legal system to his advantage, scheduling a custody hearing. Realizing that flight and the law are not her strongest allies, Slim takes intensive combat classes, preparing to meet Mitch one last time, intending to kill him in apparent self defense. ENOUGH wisely spins typical gender roles beyond the training of its protagonist. Slim is aided by a sensitive male admirer (Dan Futterman), who has stamina problems, and her daughter Grace (Tessa Allen), who has admirable basketball skills. When it comes time for the climactic last battle, ENOUGH doesn't get bogged down with politics, sexual or otherwise. Instead, it gleefully delivers an elaborate, bloody, final brawl. [More]

Reviews for Enough
Taking the film as a thriller, it's neither exciting nor scary, hampered by a middle that plays much too long.
The script is like a worn piece of rope -- little by little the strands begin to split and unravel.
You just hold on, scream a little, cheer a little and enjoy the ride for what it is.
Marred by a worthless script, meandering performances and leaden direction. And a worthless script.
Rivals Showgirls and old Ed Wood movies from the 1950s in the so-bad-it's-fun category.
As gaudy and manipulative entertainments go, there's just not enough in Enough.
What begins as a seemingly brainless, bubbly romantic comedy becomes a cliche-drenched melodrama by mid-film and, by film's end, a feminist action fantasy.
You wonder why Enough wasn't just a music video rather than a full-length movie.
Offensive in the way it exploits the hot-button issue of domestic abuse for cheap thrills and disgusting in the manner it repeatedly puts a small child in jeopardy, treating her as little more than a prop to be cruelly tormented.
A surprisingly effective thriller, outdistancing similar hooey like Sleeping with the Enemy and Double Jeopardy by miles.
Shamelessly exploits the horror of domestic violence for melodramatic, cheap thrills.
Manages to take the serious subject of spousal abuse and transform it into a lame, cheesy, J.Lo-kicks-butt revenge fantasy.
Michael Apted's 'self defense isn't murder' thriller may reek of familiarity like yesterday's garbage, but the intense chemistry between the leading actors actually makes the film work.
