Othello (acclaimed operatic bass Willard White) is a Moroccan nobleman whose marriage to the lovely and loyal Desdemona is untroubled by jealousy or conflict. That is until his trusted confidante Iago, who is envious of Othello's happiness, begins to scheme against the couple, and ultimately incites a jealous rage in the honorable aristocrat. Othello then commits an unthinkable act, driven in his rage by the jealousy of another. This critically acclaimed film originally aired in 1995 as a stage-to-screen production in conjunction with the Royal Shakespeare Company. [More]
