Reviews for Sacred Planet
All fluff and no substance, and even though it's nice fluff (pretty pictures and nice tribal music), the message is so convoluted it doesn't even know what it's trying to say.
...generally possesses the feel of a hopelessly dry education video...
A repetitive, globe-hopping Imax project that dresses up well-known ecological truisms with pretty nature photography.
Images are very pleasing, but only a few actually take your breath away. Still, this should provide a good springboard for conversation into civilization & environmentalism.
In this well-intentioned celebration of nature and traditional ways of life, giant-screen images feel generic when they should inspire wonder.
A by-the-numbers ecology film that's full of pretty images of Mother Earth strung together with precious little imagination, originality or enthusiasm.
Avoids polemic in favor of simply showing the many splendors we may yet lose forever.
While there's little fresh news, the native faces and the magnificence of their surroundings make this a worthy journey.
A beautiful IMAX film that challenges us to learn from indigenous peoples about how to live in harmony with the good Earth.
The images are enthralling, as per usual with the giant IMAX format, and cover Alaskan glaciers, the desert Southwest, the jungles of Borneo, Thailand, the African plains, and the shores of New Zealand.
IMAX gives everyone a spacious window seat from which to view remote, unspoiled and starkly beautiful natural terrain in North America, Asia and Africa.
A glorious ode to nature that dazzles with seamless visuals and an appealing world music mix.
In the least preachy way possible it celebrates the natural world to make viewers pause and consider the profound importance of preserving the planet.
