Critic Review - ÜberCiné

A competent but fawning, focusless and utterly overlong tribute to a terribly mediocre entertainer who 'sings' like a bumblebee barfing. Bloated Boomers, feel free to be interred with a copy. Soon.

"Terribly mediocre entertainer"? Yes, and the Beatles are a cheeky pop band. Dylan's influence on music is immeasurable. You are terribly mediocre.

Congratulations! Your review offers irrefutable evidence you know nothing about the history of pop music. Or film.

What Dylan doesn't have in singing ability, he makes up for in spirit and poetic ability. If you cannot see that, you cannot qualify as a critic.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, even if that opinion is idiotic, ignorant, and disgustingly mediocre.

Hahahaha, a Billy Bragg/ Robyn Hitchcock fan, I didn't know they existed, man no wonder you dont like Dylan. Get your head out of your ***. Before Dylan there were very few musicians impregnating popular music with meaningful lyrics. Without Dylan you better believe Hitchcock would be singing some Tin Pan Alley/ Broadway bull**** with no substance at all, and I'm sure she'd tell you that herself. Now I don't know how much you know about folk music but the musicians tend to all play the same songs and and share tricks of the trade. You see, they share similar repertoires, the same standards if you will. Dylan did not steal 'House of the Rising Sun' from Van Ronk. Like all the Village Folkies, Woody Guthrie, and countless other folk musicians, Dylan and Van Ronk both played 'House of the Rising Sun'. Their versions don't even sound the same if you've ever heard both of them. As for 'tapping' Joan Baez, i think you need to take a look at Baez's repertoire, it consists largely of songs written and made famous by Dylan. If anyone was doing any 'tapping' it was miss Baez. You say Dylan has stolen all that has made him famous by 'tapping' other artists, yet your favorite artist has made a double album 'tapping' Dyaln. I think you need to 'tap' on your empty skull and realize the only vacuum with great things going on around it is you brother. Why don't you put the Billy Bragg albums away and pick up 'The Times They Are A-Changin' and really listen to it before you say that Dylan has nothing of great meaning or worth to say. He has spoken to and touched more people than Bragg or Hitchcock could ever, and i don't think this is a coincidence. You need to venture past this silly documentary before you write such a scathing review of Dylan. Listen to the man's music first. Billy Bragg, haha, man you're funny, terrible review writer, but funny.

"Lyrics mostly
meaningless"

We're talking about Bob Dylan right? I assume you'd rather listen to Rihanna or the Pussycat Dolls or something.

"Sorry, Rolling Stone. I know he's your fave. Your movie critic Peter Travers sucks, too, by the way. He%u2019s a joke."

-This sounds real professional. It looks like you took your hate of Rolling Stone, and whipped up this unfair review of a documentary on an American Music icon.

This is the most worst review I have ever read. Seriously.

This man does not even deserve to live on this Earth, his opinions are really that pathetic and his "facts" completely unfounded.

Its sad that someone can be so ignorant. I have to assume you have no taste in music. I can understand not liking the man because his music does not suit you, however, show some respect. Dylan is a legend, while you... Well this is probably the most attention you shall ever receive...

How did this review even make onto Rotten Tomatoes? This guy is not only offensive and idiotic, he has no sense of criticism; he offers no support for his arguement that goes drastically against the mindset of millions of Americans.

Since when is does a film review become about a musician rather than the film. It's called a "film" review for a reason. To call a musician a "terribly mediocre entertainer who 'sings' like a bumblebee barfing" is not only idiotic, but also completely irrelevant and immature. First of all, Bob Dylan is a cultural icon who transcends all things "music business", so bashing him has no logical foundation. You don't have to be like a kid teasing something they don't understand. And second, this is a documentary film. Stick to reviewing the film and not the life of the musician it's about. I don't tear Frost/Nixon apart because of who Richard Nixon was.

Well Gregory, we did not ask you to review him as a musician. That literally has nothing to do with this, or this website, or your profession. Not sure why you talked about only that, but you seem to be the critic here.

I had no idea trolls were allowed to post reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

Forget music taste, I can't believe that there is anyone who can ignore Dylan's influence on the multiple generations that followed.

The most unprofessional and stupid critic ever. This kind of critics shouldn't be on rotten tomatoes. Review the movie not Peter Travers or the great Dylan.
