Linton Semage's drama Pickpocket stars a man who supports himself and his family by lifting wallets and handbags. Troubled by the ethics of his profession, he contemplates finding a more reputable line of work. During this moral quandary, he steals from a man who might be having an affair with his daughter. ~ Perry Seibert, Rovi

... the original film negatives were apparently not in the greatest shape. Still, Pathfinder obviously didn't go to any extra trouble to clean it up.
Some scenes are just too long, while others are done with a dreamy essence that, in some ways, undermines the grittiness of the mise en scene.
The film runs a mere 77 minutes, yet it seems at least three times that.
