Please do not defile my favorite director of the past fifteen years by suggesting he be involved with this kind of trifle. Anderson may have been a crafter of excellent and risk-taking funny films a while back, but like you suggested of Almodovar, P.T. has matured and done away with the quirkiness to focus on bigger ambitions (the mostly spectacular There Will Be Blood). As for the film in question, it looks like it will be a monumental disaster, what with Smith's ego as big as it is and Rogen's getting bigger by the month, with each new film he's (loosely) tied to. I loved Superbad and Knocked Up, but this will be a huge clash of styles resulting in what could be the worst comedy of the year post-March. Summary: Smith hasn't been funny since Dogma, Rogen may never be funny again. (Reply to this) |
