Trailer(s) Bulletin: Step Brothers and He's Just Not That Into You
by Jeff Giles | May 28, 2008
Discuss Article
We've reached the Hump Day portion of a four-day work week -- how better to celebrate than by watching a pair of new trailers?

First up, the makers of Step Brothers -- the latest man-child comedy from Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly, opening July 25 and starring the two as a pair of middle-aged layabouts who are forced into close quarters when their parents get married -- have unveiled a spankin'-new red band trailer. It recycles a few bits from the previous trailer, but this is a Will Ferrell comedy, so you know you aren't getting the true flavor of the movie until you see the red band version. Follow the link below!

But wait, there's more! The first trailer for He's Just Not That Into You -- the inspired-by-a-self-help-book dramedy with a cast a mile long -- has hit the Web, and now you have your first chance to see Scarlett Johansson, Drew Barrymore, Ben Affleck, Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Connolly, Kevin Connolly, Jennifer Aniston, and the rest of the gang look all beautiful and stuff before they reach a theater near you on October 24. Wanna watch it? You know what to do. Follow that link!

hahaha...i just love the phrasing "recycled bits" being in an article about will ferrell. wording fits his comedy perfectly...

this movie looks downright awesome. and the fact that it'll be rated R just makes it even better. but yeah it looks totally like his Old School character only less mature.

If you don't find this trailer hilarious you are a comedic Nazi.

I guess I'm a comedic nazi. This looks even worse than Talladega Nights, and I thought that one at least had a funny trailer.

Anchorman - Hilarious.
Talladega Nights - Not nearly as good, but still funny.
Blades of Glory - Mediocre at best with a few laughs here and there.
Semi-Pro - O_O;; I want my life back.
Step Brothers - If being a comedic Nazi means I can stop this guy from making movies, than heil heil heil.

I thought that semi pro was actually pretty funny. But I liked Talladega Nights best.

Commenting on the non-Will Ferrell movie, "He's Just Not That Into You" looks surprisingly decent; a good ensemble cast, some sharp dialogue, no stupid slapstick ( like every Kate Hudson movie ever)...I might actually want to see this one.

And I think "Step-Brothers" looks hilarious; this is a far better red-band trailer than the one for "Semi-Pro". But did this clip show all the jokes?

Side note: Not exactly relevant, but on the topic of R-Rated comedies, who here is still worried about "Tropic Thunder"?- it seems like it's almost there, but not quite, judging from the last trailer.

Step-Brothers looks great. My favorite part of Talledaga nights was actually a deleted/expanded scene where Farrel walks in on his wife with John C. Reilly. THose guys seem able to play off each other like 2 great Jazz musicians!

That other movie looks bland and stupid. The fact Ben Affleck is acting in it means I won't see it. I made that promise to myself after seeing 1/4 of Gigli and some of that idiotic movie he was in with Uma Thurman.

I'll see a Ben Affleck directed film. Gone baby gone was great, but, he needs to never act again.
