one funny line.
"I'll live...which is more than I can say for my dad" lolololol
This movie is pretty awesome. It looks like it was made with the same intention (and budget) as the first Evil Dead movie. There is tons of great effects in this film that separate it from a lot of other straight to video horror films of this time. Actors are terrible but that just adds to the fun.
A sadly hilarious fact about Brett Piper's film Drainiac is that the whole time I was watching this film, I thought it was one of the many small semi-ripoffs of Evil Dead to come out in the mid-80's. Truth be told, this film was made in 2000, but there isn't a hint of modern day to be found in this film, which I think actually works for the film. The story is about a depressed teenager who is forced by her shithead of the year dad to renovate a house while he gets drunk. We her and her friends who tag along don't know is that the house is haunted by water elements (or something of that nature), and all sorts of freaky shit starts happening, culminating in a rather amusing climax involving some random gent coming over to the house to perform an exorcism. The exorcism results in a melee of fun-to-watch prosthetics, claymation, and stop motion animation monsters, tentacles, deaths and so forth. Being a Brett Piper (Screaming Dead, They Bite, etc) film, naturally I assumed there would be some titties here and there, which also intrigued me, as the three main girls in it seemed came off as goody two shoes, but sure as shit, the main girl (in a surprising move) gets bare ass naked and we see titties, bush, ass, and ugly ass tattoo. All in all, this isn't too bad of a film except for several slow spots, but I can definitely see it paying homage to Evil Dead. Worth a watch on a rainy day.
