It's exactly what it's supposed to be: an upscale goth B-movie with dark humor and buckets of blood.
Wow, could I have whatever you had when you watched this movie? In a group of five, all of whom love this genre, all of us thought it sucked. Hopkins overacting and Del toro phoning it in, and a really lame script, .... seriously did they pay you for this review?

John, actually I'm more impressed with a person's reaction to a film if they watch it by themselves. With a group, people tend to parrot each other. Not saying that's what happened with your particular group, but I'm never surprised when someone says, "We ALL thought it sucked".

A critic who gets it! All the whining about overacting...it's B movie brilliance. Ham, gothic scenery, and a cool looking monster. Sweet!

I saw the Wolfman over the weekend and I couldn't have been more pleased. It was everything I had hoped it would be and it paid great homage to the original.

Greetings year-old comment from user Paul G.! You seem to be confused concerning the definition of a "B movie." I will quote for you:"The term is also now used loosely to refer to some higher budgeted, mainstream films with exploitation-style content, usually in genres traditionally associated with the B movie."You are also incorrect in regards to Mr. Roeper's sexual proclivity. He is, in fact, a heterosexual man married to a real live female! Such a feat, I know, is beyond your hopes and grasp, but it does happen!I hope this was helpful, Rotten Tomatoes comments section user Paul G.!
