Mirrors is too lugubrious and misconceived to reflect the talent of those involved.
Lugubrious? LOL! Yea, maybe horror films should start out with happy-go-lucky families dancing through a field of flowers before ghosts start appearing in their mirrors. Oh, but wait...then the filmmaker would've been accused of being manipulative had they taken such a tact. God forbid they should follow common sense. All intelligent screenwriters start their stories at a dramatic point in the main character's lives. Hence the build up to the dramatic events to come. Yea, screenwriting 101. But, I guess had you known that you might be writing screenplays instead of reviewing films with personal baggage in tow. LOL!

That a plot advancer is learned in "screenwriting 101" might suggest that it's hackneyed and unoriginal; come on, you don't think Ben's backstory rings all-too-familiar?
