You know Pale Rider is an awful lot like High Plains Drifter. They even star the same guy. But they're different movies. Blade Runner and The Fifth Element share a lot of visual elements, although they are tonally different. Even Last Man Standing and A Fistful of Dollars, which are remakes of Yojimbo, don't share the same characters, settings or the title "Yojimbo". Does anyone get what I'm saying? I'm sure the people making this really liked elements of Robocop but not all the elements or why bother to remake it? I like Indiana Jones, but instead of redoing (remaking, rebooting) Indiana Jones, I would prefer to keep him the way he is and instead rip off the qualities I like best and bestow them upon a new hero all my own (and George Lucas's). I know it sounds dishonest but I would rather watch a blatant rip-off of Die Hard than a reimagining.
Tall Cool One !
