Critic Review - Washington Post

Even by Stooges standards, it's overly juvenile and totally dumb.

I'm sorry you didn't find this movie to your liking. You are to young to remember the original 3-Stooges. I'm sure you have seen some of their original black and white work. They were big when I was ten years old. Now I'm sixty-seven. I never liked the original Stooges. But this film was a joy. Much better than the original stuff. It was non stop funny from beginning to end. I suggest you see it again and let your funny bone take over and let your brain back off. No over analysis, just let yourself go. That's what I did.

Just cause it isn't full of swear words and sexual content doesn't make a movie dumb. I don't understand how someone couldn't find this movie hilarious. You must've been a sheltered child.

Only morons who enjoy baby piss gags and Jersey Shore would like this movie. The original Three Stooges shorts were hilarious, not like this mess made for modern dimwits.

It's called a tribute, if you want the real thing go watch the old three stooges.

Try watching some of the Stooges shorts or even their full length films. You either love them or you don't get them and you don't get them. This was brilliant to say the least. After the dismal attempts at the likes of Sgt. Bilko, Bewitched, The Little Rascals, Leave it to Beaver, etc, I would have thought this to be unthinkable to attempt .... untouchable, as it would be the most difficult to pull off. But to the delight of Stooges fans everywhere, they pulled this off magnificently ... absolutely superb! Great job boys! You did your homework well. Jerome Howard, Moe Howard & Larry Fine would be proud. Bring on Shemp!

To complain about The Stooges being dumb is like complaining that fried chicken is greasy. You're either too young to remember The Stooges and/or you just don't get it. Either way, they should have picked a more objective reviewer for this movie.

We had a GREAT time!!!

This movie was a GREAT tribute to three funny guys who were ahead of their time. We enjoyed it very much! It was a fun escape from all the dark drama that's so popular in TV and movies these days.

So if you're smart enough to know how fun it is to be dumb, check The Three Stooges out. It's reminiscent of a time when movies were made to entertain. Before Hollywood started taking itself so seriously.

Part spoiler alert part opinion: Let's swap the Jersey Shore kids for a Shemp cameo!!!!!!

The movie was BRILLIANT, let's not forget the Stooges were NOT funny in long feature films and this one is by far better than most of the original feature films they made. ANd it is exactly the same type of style they had, what are you expecting from the Stooges? A kind of humor like that of The Big Bang Theory?! It is just slapstick! If you are a fan you will love it, otherwise, it may not be the film for you.

This movie was beyond terrible. How it got a 51% rating is staggering. Nothing was funny. The voices couldn't have been more annoying. Everything was a mess from beginning to end. It that shocking? No. Hollywood tried to replicate a style of comedy that died a long time ago. Before you say anything, I do not think most of the terrible comedies these days are any better, nor am I saying that adding some adult comedy would have made it better. The point is, the jokes and gags are old. Predictable. Even my 8 year old nephew, whom I brought to see it, didn't laugh once. Instead he sat impatiently, waiting for the disaster onscreen to end, as did I. If you enjoy extremely dimwitted and simple comedy that might get a giggle out of a newborn then this is the movie for you. If not, buyer beware.
