(Takes in a deep breath and then exhales)...

Stannis laid the hammer down! Brienne vs. The Hound delivered the Best fight of the entire series...thus far! The Mountain is..not...dead! Oh, what will become of him! Cersei takes complete control of her situation..for now! Tyrion brings true justice for himself and his family! Aya's story hasn't even begun and she is heading toward a new destiny! What an episode full of so much content!

...(Breathes)...(sighs)...(releases rage)

and now I have to wait a year for season five! ARGH!!!!

P.S. Favorite moment this episode: Stannis is confidently heading toward Mance's tent when one of the wildlings charges Stannis and is quickly put down by a horseman out of nowhere! I laughed out loud as it was a Monty Python sort of moment. Brilliant!

Cersei takes complete control of her own situation? That didn't seem like filler to you? Like a producer thought "have we had a kinky yet kind of disturbing sex scene in a while?". Everything in the last 10 minutes of the episode makes everything Cersei did in that episode completely pointless. Also kind of made Jamie look like an awful boyfriend, again (ewww).

100% agree with you on the Brieene Hound Fight. That was Brutal and Awesome! I'm glad Aria didn't hide from her out of the sake of being a stubborn child either. Like you said, choosing to head towards a new Destiny. Her actually getting to choose for once and not be dragged along.

I really enjoyed last week's battle at the wall showing just how much courage these Thiefs cast aways from Westeros had in protecting the citizens in contrast to the well trained fine tuned killing power of Stannis Royal Army. The Free-Folk didn't stand a chance. Excited to see where this goes.

The Mountain is not dead?! But will he be recasted a 4th time? Wait and see for Season 5!

Bigbrother .

I think they actually play Cersei up much more competently than they do in the books. In the books she seems like a bungler of the first order, certainly not capable of dictating terms to her father.

Tywin not knowing that his twins have been Shtooping is the most ridiculous trump card I have ever heard. The smartest character in the entire show (other then perhaps Vesaries or Tyrion..maybe) doesn't realize what Ned Stark and John Aaron realize in seconds? It seemed absolutely absurd. I'll tell everyone I'm boinking my brother! ah ha! Oooookay, and how does that set her free? Isn't that one of those "Abomination of all gods punishable by death" type of crimes? Tomin is safe if the people of westeros know he's a incest bastard how exactly?

then she gets control over Jamie? only doesn't because he complete under minds her at the end of the episode. Just weird. Very weird.

We didn't talk much about the score, but how great was that choral version of the theme at the end?

The music was used perfectly in this final, season 4 episode. The overuse of music can sometimes detract from the power of a scene. Then at other times taking a scene to a whole new level of power. A generic statement uttered many times, but one that needs uttering...many times.

Easily the worst episode of the series. It seemed rushed and rather muted. Changes from the book made no sense and only detracted from the story. Lost a lot of interest in next season.

Well to be fair, after A Storm of Swords a lot of people lost a lot of interest in the books too. To be fair.. Just saying.

Yeah, I can't really get a beat on Cersei. I think the people who've read the books have a more clued-in interpretation of her, because to me she seems like a horrible monster, and so I have a hard time buying that a person like her would love her children as much as this show wants us to believe she does.

@Bradly: I like what you say about the incest reveal being a bad "trump card" -- except that it would definitely de-legitimize her son as an heir, right? Which is the only reason Tywin would really care, I guess.

I don't understand why this point wasn't brought up in the Podcast and I don't have access to the books to verify my thoughts but Mance's request to John Snow to allow 100,000 refugees to go through the tunnel is a valid request and egress should be given because; the north is 6x as large as the rest of the kingdom's combined per the Lannisters, Given that Stannis needs an army (amazing Stannis had those troops there so quickly, unnoticed, and won so decisively), the north is now controlled by the Lannister Clan, John Snow's family and castle have been decimated, the wall needs to be defended from the white walkers, and everyone hates the Lannisters; why is there a problem of letting the wildlings south of the wall? --- Make a deal?
