Against this dramatic backdrop, two young people named Nandu (Anil Kapoor) and Rajeshwari (Manisha Koirala) fall in love in the small town of Kasauni. Their families have opposing political beliefs, however, and as events escalate, the two are faced with difficult decisions as they struggle to stay together.
