In 2005, the long-suffering Chicago White Sox followed in the footsteps of their fellow underdogs, the Boston Red Sox, by reversing the 88-year curse that had kept them from World Series victory since 1917. Even more incredibly, the historic win came on the heels of an amazingly successful season that saw the ChiSox finish with the best record in the American League and made Ozzie Guillen the first Latino manager in postseason history.
