Critic Review - Newark Star-Ledger

History is inconveniently complex. And so we get Frank Miller's version, in which everything is simplified to the point of porridge.

What Mr Whitty fails to realize in his forced "Post 9-11" blatherings is that this comic was written in 1998, and based on a movie from 1962.

Mr. Whitty hates seeing brave men fight for freedom with such courage... Why? Because he is a coward and always will be.

Wow...both Miller and Tolkien wrote their "east vs west" works BEFORE 9/11. I go to school for history lessons, not the movies-you do the opposite?

Lovely. Such a blame that people judge before necessary experience. A waste of fanboy energy

It's a movie based on a comic book based on a movie based on an historical event, and you went in expecting accuracy?

Unfortunately for me i get to read Whitty poorly review good movies all the time. It's a privilege he shouldn't even be paid for.

Historically accurrate? Didn't the battle with the undead ghouls clue you in that this was a fantasy flick?

Your mom is inconveniently complex. Stop judging on history and start judging on the movie.

Check your history, chump. It's Mr. Whitty I feel sorry for; he's incapable of letting go and enjoying himself. Fun film.

I disliked Lord of the Rings for the same reason. The Orcs's numbers were exgaggerated at Helms Deep.

whitty is right, bc Miller proclaims to be a voice of truth. Aren't we bored of racist histories of demonized brown heathens vs. perfect white men?

Oh COME ON! Porridge? It was a good movie! History isn't important when you can make a movie look that good! You're an idiot! Porridge? I mean, realy

i often come across that problem too. its like these graphic novels were not made for education.

the post-9/11 undertones that people are noticing exist because movies only represent the time when they are released and not any other time period
