English filmmaker Constantine Giannaris, one of Britain's premier directors dealing with gay subject matter, sublimated his normal thematic preoccupations with the crime drama 3 STEPS TO HEAVEN. After a wild party, the body of one of the guests, Sean, is discovered by the riverside. Although the police rule the death an accident, Sean's girlfriend isn't so sure. She launches into her own private investigation, taking up multiple roles and disguises, discovering that three minor celebrities were the last to see Sean alive. The course of her search leads her from the upper echelons of London society to its underbelly. Director Giannaris manages to combine black comedy, tragedy, sex, and violence into a cocktail that has been compared to films by Pedro Almodovar. [More]

  • An electrifying combination of action and suspense, 3 STEPS TO HEAVEN is an award-winning thriller about one woman's search for the truth at any cost! A beautiful woman becomes obsessed with the death of her boyfriend even after the authorities have written it off as a simple drowning. Convinced that there is more to it, she decides to do her own detective work in an effort to uncover what really happened. When she finds out that he was last seen with three celebrities, she confronts them one by one . . . and slowly begins to piece together what went on that fateful night!
