Critics Consensus: 50/50 is Certified Fresh

Summary

This week at the movies, we've got a survivor story (50/50, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen), ex excitement (What's Your Number?, starring Anna Faris and Chris Evans), a demonic dwelling (Dream House, starring Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz), and some conflicted cops (Courageous, starring Alex Kendrick and Ken Bevel). What do the critics have to say? In a comedy, no subject is completely off limits if the jokes make us laugh -- and have the ring of truth. Such is the case with 50/50, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt as a young man whose cancer diagnosis forces him to reevaluate his life. Back to Article

I think the reason mainstream audiences had a beef with Drive is because the TV spots (where most people are informed about a movie) advertised it as an action flick, when it is far from it. If people get their jump scares and creepy children saying nonscary things, then they will be happy with Dream House.

Not surprised to hear that Dream House wasn't screened for critics.
I'll put Dream House at a 17%.
Courageous will do better with critics than Dream House, so I'll put it at 37%.

Hmm, what an interesting week. 50/50 looks nice, and that one film called My Joy looks really interesting.

From Moviefone:

"It?s a good thing that Craig and Weisz reportedly dislike the film so much that they refuse to do press for it..."

Dream House sounds like a nightmare! Ohohohohoho.

I guess 12%.

50/50 looks awesome, be seeing that soon. However I think my time this weekend shall be spent playing the Battlefield 3 Beta.

I'm guessing an 18% for Dream House (real shame with such talent involved) and a 24% for Courageous.

Even though the tomatometer scores are up they still could change but I'll put in my initial thoughts which were 8% for Courageous and 26% for Dream House.

Anna's plastic surgery didn't start off bad, but like most of these stars she went and overdid it.
