Movie Info

Due to political pressure from the American public, the Air Force has decided to allow two well-known reporters limited access to the most secretive base on the planet. But when one of the base's "long-term visitors" exploits this unprecedented visit as a chance to liberate himself and his fellow alien captives, Area 51 turns from a secure government base to a horrifying destination of terror. -- (C) After Dark Films

I have been relatively impressed with the After Dark Originals series--the successor of the After Dark 8 Films to Die For series, but 51 was an exception. 51 could have been much better if it had played it seriously instead of trying to be clever and stupid with its aliens, which eventually end up feeling like Aliens out of a children's film from the 1980s (The Explorers, etc.). Sure, they turn bad and wreak havoc, but by that point their scariness has already been negated by the film's stupid early depictions of them.

One of my favorite of this series of After Dark Originals. Great story line and the picture went great with it.
