Critic Review - Rolling Stone

Green Lantern is a new primer on how not to make a comicbook movie unless you want to screw shit up. Flat FX, smirky acting, clunky writing and clueless direction. WTF?

Travers is not particularly difficult to please, it's true. This is a man who thought Matrix: Revolutions was unfairly maligned. He's basically the last line of defense a movie has in the mainstream media. Looks like Green Lantern is indefensible.

I want to thank Peter Travers for finally bringing professional film criticism down to the level of a 12-year-old talkbacker. I look forward to his next review, where he rates a film either "sucks sweaty donkey nards" or "it pwns your ass!"

Ironically he was being professional still. He is writing the review in a way that ordinary people can understand immediately without having to waste extra time deciphering a higher level of vocabulary.

Yes, the review doesn't look as fancy and well-maintained as one would expect, but it gets the point across. Mission accomplished.

I think his choice of words was entirely intentional. Peter Travers is one of the best critics around.

I had no idea Rex Reed was a Rotten Tomatoes member! For surely this member is, at the very least, channeling his pompous self-importance and standard of cinematic review as an art form. What a ridiculous ass Travers is to write reviews in a conversational manner that may actually be of some use to the majority of his readers. Snort.

Absolutely well said. Peter you never lose your momentum in thrashing bad films like u did with all the Michael Bay movies. I think this movie is gonna be a disaster.

Wow!

Just saw the movie today and I HAVE to disagree.

One of the BEST superhero flicks since Christopher Reeve donned the cape.

This was a terrible review. Normally when he bashes a movie, he gives good points and its funny. This is a bland and horrible execuse for a review. Pete, I am disappoint.

The primer on how not to make a comic book movie is Nolan's Batman Trilogy!! 1st one was great but stumbled by the middle of the second one...
If you failed to see the FX, the good writing, the direction, it's because you're a complete idiot!! The only smirky acting was Blake Lively...
