Critic Review - ReelViews

The result makes the movie seem assembled from bits and pieces of other superhero yarns rather than existing on a plane of its own.

well said. This movie is really mediocre. They shud'd thought twice before putting up $200 million on a film like this.

You hit the nail on the head. I just rented this film on DirectTv and I had to read your review on this because I couldn't figure out why it didn't work. It was an almost but not quite. I think there was just too much going on. They really didn't establish the bad guy very well. Peter Sarsgaard is such a good actor and they really could have used him more. The romance scenes did not move me at all and was bored to tears whenever Ryan and Blake were together. Maybe with a better script and a new leading lady (sorry Blake) a sequel could work. I never read the comic book, but I like the idea of what they were trying to do.

Sounds like the kind of review that only someone very bitter would dismiss your points. Very well constructed and, unlike most, compared the movie to others when it was absolutely necessary.

It's the kind of review that deserves the claim as "Top Critic". I was going to write a review, but I would of pretty much mirrored yours and found it needless. Like I said, nice work.

You sir, are an idiot!!! It's an origin story from a comic book story!!! And pretty much every super hero story is one ordinary man/woman who overcome extraordinary adversity. For me, the movie felt like Ironman, but Hal Jordan matured more than Tony Stark, even though Stark's personality is completely different. You lack comprehension and judgement for this movie. It was better than the origin story of Batman in Batman Begins because Raz Al Guul NEVER trained Bruce Wayne, yet Sinestro actually did train Hal Jordan...
All the faults YOU thought were faults were actually the positive aspect of the movie. You're a retard saying otherwise...
