Reviews
The special effects sequences, silly jokes, tantalizing outfits and overbearing soundtrack seem painfully forced and fake. Or maybe a better word is shallow. This film, for whatever it achieves, is painfully shallow.
It's like a third-rate Austin Powers picture cut to the whacking, attention-deficit-disorder tempo of Moulin Rouge.
Well, at least the title is apt -- this aggravatingly incoherent series of subpar music videos did make me want to see someone fully throttled.
Once again, the tone is that of a giggly, sweetly knowing, megabucks slumber party.
Stupid stunts that defy rational belief, wasted casting that infuriates and annoys, and more skin than any woman with a brain, agent and reputation should display on screen.
My idea of hell: being locked in a theater for eternity with these Angels.
[A]s with the first film, it’s a complete goof, meant to be enjoyed with a large popcorn and lots of air conditioning.
Cameron, Lucy, and Drew are back as the Angels, with Bernie Mac and Demi Moore spicing it up. You’ll clap along even as you realize how plain dumb it all is.
A protracted, anti-feminist wet t-shirt display, in search of characters, plot and intelligence.
A lot less fun than 2000's Charlie's Angels, this sequel made for the ADD generation jumps from one thing to the next like a mongoose on crack, and yet comes up with nothing.
That Full Throttle is an exuberant, eye-catching and infectious film despite a script that probably only exists in theory proves that director McG is a damn McGenius.
A wonderful pastiche of seventies and eighties pop culture, Full Throttle is a kitschy joyride complete with wonderful cameos, joyous dance numbers and acrobatic ***-kicking.
Runs out of juice the faster it tries to reach a conclusion. Nice outfits, though.
Diagnosis: D.O.A....Novelty value: significantly diminished. Stunt sequences: total overkill. Directorial style: antic incoherence.
