Reviews
Between the money scenes, we get characters standing at attention and burping prophecies and deep thoughts at each other.
...less a narrative than an advertisement for a cultural wave. It's all about discount Zen and black clothes, the commodification of sterile violence as Kabuki.
If you're 14 or younger in age or sensibility, you may giggle at some of the bons mots.
Worryingly, the longer this movie goes on, the harder it is to care.
The Matrix Reloaded -- not unlike its predecessor -- might be hard to swallow, but it's so delicious you just can't help but want more.
Now if I can just make it until November to see how those loose ends tie up...
Entertaining enough to make it worth the price of a movie ticket.
'What made the first film so satisfying -- the detailed creepiness of human enslavement by technology -- is barely touched on here.'
The philosophical riddling becomes too convoluted. The awe-inspiring fight scenes run too long, delivering few surprises and zero suspense. And the kung-fu/wire-fu confrontations become tedious.
Do fans care this high dollar eye candy is much ado about really nothing?
Sure to entertain, philosophize, and leave you hanging for the final chapter.
Reloaded can't match the initial thrill sensation in the first. What it does do is expound on the original with considerable style and move the story forward.
... It is a satisfying continuation of the epic story begun in The Matrix and sets the stage for what should be a grand finale...
Most of the fight scenes are mechanical and clunky with no sense of urgency, danger or passion.
[D]azzling special effects, lots of action, and some mind bending philosophizing.
You carped year after year about blockbuster movies having no plot, then when one finally comes out that's full to the brim with story, you complain that it's too confusing?
