Audience Reviews for A Haunting in Connecticut

For those familiar with the show "A Haunting" on Discovery you should know by now it's some creepy shit. For those who dislike it, read no more. This is for the fans.

I wrote this brief review such a looooooong time ago, when the theatrical movie was just in pre-production. I'm sending this now cause they just actually added the documentary movie to the flixster site. I saw this documentary in 2002 around Halloween time, way before the movie was even in talks. I believe it was one of the first of "A Haunting" series. You should all watch this first before the movie to get more on the real story. The movie may suck, it may not suck...but who really knows till then? But anyway, this is not my review on the movie but only for the documentary itself...

"The documentary of the true story that this movie is based on aired on the Discovery Channel lots of times. And let me tell you, it was some truly horrifying stuff. I haven't been that scared watching something for quite some time, but this nail-biting documentary definitely did the trick. Try watching this alone at night, the documentary that is, and tell me what you think!"

Like I said, watch it alone!

Super Reviewer

love hauntings - good haunting movie

"The day Karen and Ed Parker move into their dream home, ominous clues of its chilling funeral parlor past greet them: crucifixes on doors, toe tags and coffin keys in the basement. Their 14-year-old son, Paul, claims he sees apparitions and hears voices. Soon, the house is plagued by dark forces that torment the entire family, and it will take a desperate call to Edward and Lorraine Warren-investigators of the Amityville haunting-to offer any hope of relief. The companion "documentary" of the true story behind "The Haunting in Connecticut," this really has that cheesy "Unsolved Mysteries" feel to it which seemed to strike my mood just right. It's a story about a family that moved into a home that was a former mortuary and a demonic entity took up residence and began affecting and attacking family members. If you believe those types of stories, it'll be really fascinating. If you're a skeptic, you'll probably enjoy the ghost story as just that- a campfire tale.
