A Thousand Women Like Me (2000)
Failed by the justice system and forgotten in a patriarchal society, a desperate mother is forced to take matters into her own hands in order to rescue her son from the father who cannot properly care for him. Sharzad is a successful lawyer living in contemporary Tehran. When her marriage to a powerful businessman fails, the courts grant custody of the couple's seven year old son exclusively to the father.
