I didn't expect much but I thought there would be a few silly laughs, and it didn't even deliver on that.

"A Haunted House" is on a borderline. While it is mostly not funny or even creative, it is actually better than the upcoming sequel to the "Scary Movie" franchise, which almost comes off rated PG. The least that can be said for "A Haunted House" is that is embraces its R rating. However, overall, this film is just not funny. We are served with caricatures and stereotypes of every denomination, from racist rednecks, to homosexuals, to angry black thugs. The film struggles for laughs and to put things into perspective, I only laughed once, when Marlon Wayans and Essence Atkins attempt to ignore the ghost as it acts like child starving for attention. That sequence of events, I will admit, was hilarious, but to put up with 86 minutes of film for a one minute portion that is funny, just doesn't scream efficiency. I also wonder where Essence Atkins came from and why she was the choice for leading actress in this film, with no star quality and very poor screen presence. Chances are we will not be seeing her around except for spoof movies, and we can only pray that there isn't enough left to spoof to bring on a sequel.

Had one laugh in it. Didn't care for the way it was shot. Can't believe I sat through the whole thing. Wouldn't even waste Netflix bandwidth on it.

I have never heard of this movie and I am glad I did. This is the funniest movie I have seen in a while.

(1 1/2 Stars) I'm being generous giving A Haunted House 1 1/2 stars since it's so unfunny. I actually thought it would be worth seeing because of the films it parodied: Paranormal Activity, The Last Exorcism, and The Devil Inside. These shakey found footage movies all have one thing in common: they're mostly awful!! You would think that making fun of these movies would be like shooting fish in a barrel, but you would be dead wrong.

A Haunted House suffers the same fate as Vampires Suck and Breaking Wind Part 1. These are movies that parody the already bad source material (Twilight), but do everything wrong and fail at being funny... they're exponentially worse than Twilight and A Haunted House is so much worse than Paranormal Activity and The Last Exorcism (to its credit, it's better than The Devil Inside).

There's a certain amount of sex jokes you can take before it becomes unfunny and a chore to watch (that number is extremely low, by the way). A Haunted House does have a few funny moments where they parody the source material successfully, but they're hardly worth the twenty sex jokes that follow it. You're better off making fun of these demon possession movies yourself rather than seeing this tired flick.

God awful, not funny, worst Wayans Comedy Parody, do not expect it to be as good as Scary Movie 1 & 2 just because it is a Wayans comedy horror spoof, there might be a few silly scenes that may give you a chuckle but you will not be cracking up in laughter ..

Step it Up Marlon Wayans. I know you can do better

In 2000 Scary Movie started the trend of spoofs that made fun of the horror genre and since then none of them have really been successful. To me the only good horror spoofs are Scary Movie and Scary Movie 2, other than that none of them have been good. Fast forward thirteen years later and we now get A Haunted House which makes fun of movies including the very successful Paranormal Activity franchise and the film The Devil Inside. The trailers make it look like a very stupid spoof and that's just what it is. This movie was just horrible and at times could be painfully unfunny. I will admit there were some parts of the movie that made me chuckle and maybe one time where I actually laughed out loud. Other than those few scenes this movie was just so unfunny, I mean this movie relies on poop/fart jokes and raunchy humor to create humor and when the comedy is attempted it just fails miserably. Saying that I am also saying that this movie was just horrible written and directed. The cast really doesn't do that much but I will say that Cedric The Entertainer was the best part of the cast considering he made me laugh more than once. Overall A Haunted House is a horrible comedy and is a movie that I wouldn't recommend to people.

Greatest movie of its kind since the first Scary Movie. Much like Scary Movie and Student Bodies, A HAUNTED HOUSE has a shocking ending you never see coming. Another interesting note about this flick is that it avoids an over abundance of pop cultural references that would have eventually have rendered this movie dated.

By the time this movie was over, I was ready to go out and buy the blu-ray. Wouldn't surprise me if Open Road Films included an unrated extended cut of this movie on the blu-ray. My grade: A++

Surprisingly this film wasn't even as good as most of the Scary Movies. Like those films, this was yet another spoof comedy mocking one or more horror flicks. A Haunted House mostly was a spoof on Paranormal Activity. While there were certainly some funny parts and Marlon Wayans is his typical funny self, the movie was mostly just stupid, which was to be expected. What was disappointing was that none of the cameos were all that funny. Cedric the Entertainer was stupid and Nick Swardson was too gay.

I wasn't expecting too much from a movie like this one. You already have an idea of parodies being annoyingly stupid, but people still goes to the movie theater and they watch them, but "A Haunted House" it's actually funny. I would recommend the movie to people who likes parodies like Scary Movie or Disaster Movie, and even Paranormal Activity fans. You will have a good time, but don't expect too much, just the necessary.

Some parts of this movies was funny but I didn't really care for it. I think its trying to copy the scary movies and it didn't really do a good job. This movie had the potential to be a good movie but it didn't live up to that potential. I wish it had lived up to it's potential:(

I didn't even get 10 minutes into it and I had to turn it off. The humor wasn't funny, and actually quite offensive.

This one was so silly. But the gross out humor done by the best at it made the movie very, very funny. Definitely worth a watch.

I read all the review prior to seeing the movie and found out of all the negative feedback I found one person who enjoyed the movie just as much as I did. Despite the story line content I love the comedic humor through the whole film. I laughed from beginning to end and that's what the goal was for the director.

A haunted house! It was pretty good, but I don't like that the previews were somewhat false advertising! It was a total replica of paranormal activity up to the last 30 minutes! They were just spoofing paranormal activity! The posters show the possession and there weren't any scenes with that. They spoof the other movies like the exorcist, the last exorcism, the devil inside, Knock Knock 2, and a few others within the last 30 minutes of the film! Another problem was there were too many close ups. Other than that, it was entertaining and funny!

This is the funniest movie I've seen in awhile, and it was definitely worth it. Pretty much laughed from start to finish! Also gonna give it some bonus points for the Left 4 Dead reference and Saints Row: The Third posters everywhere.

I think that this film proves that the spoof subgenre of comedy has officially died, pun intended. Marlon Wayans of Scary Movie 1 and 2 fame stars as Malcolm Johnson, a man who's girlfriend has decided to move in with him. Wanting to document everything they do together, he decides to buy a video camera to film everything. However, when spooky things begin to happen around the house, the couple must find out what's going on and figure out how to put an end to it. Now, I understand that the film is R rated and in today's world, sex jokes and cursing jokes are inevitable. However, when these kinds of jokes fall flat and come across as stale and predictable, it's not funny! I don't know how many times I rolled my eyes at all the "jokes" that this film tried to dish out because they were just painful to sit through. It's quite clear that this film's target audience is the people who laugh at farcical jokes very easily. This may seem funny to them, but it wasn't to me. I've seen these kinds of jokes done before and I'm sick of seeing the same thing over and over again, and this is coming from a person who loves seeing horror films which dish out hundreds of sequels in their franchises. Marlon Wayans is the only saving grace in this film, but he only had about 5-6 minutes worth of funny material. The best part of the film had to be the last scene before the end credits started to roll when **spoiler alert if you really care beyond this point** he celebrates the fact that he lived before he's pulled away by the possessed Kisha. The rest of the characters were severely unfunny, especially Nick Swardson's psychic role. The whole point of his character is to say that he has a huge crush on Malcolm, but it just comes off as stupid. It wasn't funny to begin with and it certainly wasn't funny by the end when all the characters come together. Like most spoof movies, the plot is lazy but that's because it's a parody of Paranormal Activity. Normally, I'd welcome a spoof of this awful film series. In fact, I loved how The Simpsons made fun of it last year in Treehouse of Horror XXIII. However, because it was becoming even more boring than Paranormal Activity, I couldn't stand it. Stay as far away from this film as you possibly can. It's a shame that a sequel is already in the works because this film is not funny AT ALL!

This is one of those spoof movies that are hilarious the first time you see them. It started off decent, and the middle was hilarious, but the ending was so terrible I don't think I could watch this film again.
