Critic Review - Wall Street Journal

What do the Coen brothers want of us? More specifically, what do they want us to think of the repellent people in this pitilessly bleak movie?

I don't know. I mean it's about the mysteriousness of life and bad things happening to good people and people not knowing why. I wish the Coens would do a movie on Wall Street about bad things happening to bad people and everybody knowing why. There is a lot of evil in the world that is done by humans to other humans and it's obvious enough who is doing it.

Apparently you entirely missed the point of this film, but what can one expect from a Rupert Murdoch employee of a newspaper that reports on things much darker than the Coen Brothers could ever conceive of on film.

He says that the dybbuk had no direct relation to the movie. C'mon, think a little bit. Sy Ableman died in a car crash and his ghost came back to help (haunt) Larry. Does that not strike you as direct?
