This old fashioned story has a woman torn between the love of two different men. She loves a rich doctor, but his personality is considerably less likeable than that of the poor poet. When she chooses the poet over the doctor, the physician tries to win her back. He remains steadfast in his intentions to marry the woman until he is convinced she will be happier with the struggling scribe. ~ Dan Pavlides, Rovi

She is not angry, she is not sad, she just hates the whole world. Aarti to her Husband after she got scolded by her Sister in Law.)
A very nice black and white classic unfortunately almost 4 hour Movie. Great Plot, great Acting, great directing a Filmfare Winner of best Actress. Just the songs were not something I would listen, I guess perhaps because there is even a limit for me when it comes to classic songs.
I liked the appereance of Shashikala and her so sharp quotes in this Movie. It was fun first to watch her but then when she turned backstabbing, it was too much for me. She plays a very bitter house wife who whines every single minute in the Movie.
And at the other Hand there is a Comedy with Mehmood and Rajernath. Both trying to win one girls heart. The tasty piece of cake in this Movie was that the Girl wants to become a Doctor but she fails so she makes Experiments on Mehmood at home when he visits her. Great Lord it was funny. And Keshto!
