Movie Info

This post-Civil-War western is based upon the novel by Ernest Haycox (who also wrote Stagecoach). The action heats up when cattlemen and homesteaders clash and sure-pistoled lawman Dan Mitchell (Randolph Scott) is put to the test to gain law and order. And if there isn't trouble enough with scrapping settlers and rowdy cowboys, there are no-good gunslingers ,a tempting barmaid (Ann Dvorak) and a Momma's-apple-pie-type sweetheart played by Rhonda Fleming. The cast also includes Lloyd Bridges and Edgar Buchanan.more
