Five new stills from the springtime rom-com.

Spring is around the corner, so peep your first look at Uma Thurman's latest romantic comedy in which she'll face the daunting task of choosing between the charming Colin Firth and the dashing Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Some girls have it so easy.

Uma Thurman has gotten herself out of sticky situations like being buried alive, attacked by 88 crazy thugs, and facing off against a gang of deadly assassins, but in The Accidental Husband she's got an even bigger problem: a husband she didn't know she had, with a wedding to another man in the works.

The official The Accidental Husband synopsis:

After talk show host Emma (Uma Thurman) tells a bride-to-be to dump her firefighter fiancé (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), he devises a unique plan of revenge in this romantic comedy. Without Emma's knowledge, the man marries her, causing friction in her relationship with a staid man (Colin Firth).

Directed by Griffin Dunne, The Accidental Husband is written by (how refreshing!) female scribes Mimi Hare, Clare Naylor, and Bonnie Sikowitz and hits theaters March 7.

I saw a trailer for this in front of Sweeney Todd. It didn't actually look that bad compared to most romantic comedies (if they can be called either) these days. That's not saying much, but hey.

Is Colin Firth contractually offered every romantic comedy?

No, he seeks out and ****s the producers of every romantic comedy for a role in them.

wow a romantic comedy where 2 people have a conflict then hook up and have a happy ending. how did they come up with this one? seriously, they must be geniuses. i mean it's amazing how a studio can really differentiate itself by coming up with a fresh idea in a sea formulaic, repetitive nonsense. i'm amazed.

I think the formula is more along the lines of:
1. Two people who hook up through unlikely circumstances
2. Some incriminating secret or misunderstanding breaks them up
3. One person goes to resolve the conflict but sees the other person with someone else therefore creating the illusion of no hope
4. Both people have an epiphany about how they love each other
5. They get back together - The End

Correct me if I'm wrong though!
