Sam Hui continues his role as King Kong, an undercover cop who combines Bruce... Ringo Lam had already directed several comedies before doing the fourth film in the popular Aces Go Places series. Sam Hui continues his role as King Kong, an undercover cop who combines Bruce Lee's wild stunts with James Bond's ultracoolness. For formal occasions he wears a one-piece jumpsuit tuxedo. He's aided in his adventures by his bumbling sidekick, Albert Au, played by Karl Maka, the producer and head of the production company City Cinema. Albert is better known as Baldy, for obvious reasons. They are both members of the Royal Hong Kong Police. Sylvia Chang returns as Superintendent Nancy Ho, Baldy's wife and now mother of their equally bald son, Baldy Jr. The plot of this one, for what it's worth in this kind of satire, revolves around a large prism that Baldy and King Kong have and that the bad guys are trying to get back. This is, of course, just an excuse for a long series of Keystone Cops-style chases and, since the budget for this one is quite large, exploding cars and helicopters. This was Lam's last comedy before Maka allowed him to switch to the violent action films CITY ON FIREand FULL CONTACT, for which he would become a leader in the genre. [More]
