Elmo loves his fuzzy, well-worn blue blanket better than anything in the whole world. In fact, they are inseparable... a perfect team. Elmo would never let anything happen to it-until a tug-of-war with his friend Zoe sends his beloved blanket into a faraway land and Elmo in hot pursuit.
Facing life without his cherished blanket, Elmo summons all of his courage and determination and sets off on an action-packed rescue mission that plunges him into Grouchland-a place full of grouchy creatures, stinky garbage and the villainous Huxley (Mandy Patinkin). There, Elmo learns an important lesson about sharing.

Reviews for The Adventures Of Elmo In Grouchland
A lightweight, familiar comic adventure that ought to thrill the very young.
There are enough audience participation scenes to keep young children from getting restless.
Strictly for those who are currently watching the PBS series: that is, the preschool/kindergarten audience.
Kids who love Barney or the Muppets will undoubtedly feel right at home.
The film is nothing if not benign, but its merits are moot for those above 7 or so.
It's difficult for even the cynic in the audience to resist giggling at the sight of a grown man and a tiny-voiced Muppet arguing whether or not the Blanket an entire film has been built around should be called "Wubby" instead.
Perfect for that discriminating five-year-old in your life, or any grown-up who still wonders what goes on deep inside Oscar's garbage can.
A real children's film -- not 'family entertainment' -- but the kind of movie three-year-olds will enjoy, especially if they watch Sesame Street.
I can think of no better beginning for a first-time filmgoer than The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland.
The direction of Gary Halvorson and screenplay by Mitchell Kriegman and Joseph Mazzarino keep Elmo's adventures sparkling.
How does it end? With a headache, of course, from all those cheering children.
Although the film could have been a little more subtle in its moralizing, Elmo in Grouchland is certainly as entertaining as it is instructive in socialization skills.
