I understood the psychological torment these deaths made possible in Ripley, but I still couldn't resign myself to accept this plot device. Anyway, I appreciate a Frenchman's view of this film. I agree with what you said. I've come to accept the deaths of the characters---including Ripley. I do think the film is far better than what most critics have stubbornly decided.
