Critic Review - Entertainment Weekly

Oops, sorry, we're not supposed to think of Mary as mentally ill, psychologically unbalanced, or any of those painful things, just full of gumption and sunny determination.

That was my dilemma; what was this idiot woman supposed to be and those parents? And everyone else? These characters where totally unbeliveable, unsympathetic, inane, and a waste of the millions spent to produce it. A child could have written this script. Wait? Maybe a child did...it is that unrelentingly ridiculous and pointless.

Sandra...marriage has addled your brain. Time for a new career...

Well, the movie was great to me. It was a great JOKE. Now we can compare every hokey unoriginal romance that tries to reinvent that worn-down wheel, to this movie! Seriously, what a waste of $.

Could not agree more. The character of Mary actually all too fondly reminded me of those delusional people that audtion for American Idol - the ones we all laugh at and think 'oh what a nut - poor thing'.

Awful awful movie - so very awful.
