One of three low budget programmers that Kay Francis wrapped her film career up with. She gives a good performance as the leader of a shell game bilking the government out of allotment monies and is well supported by Otto Kruger and Paul Kelly.

Kay Fwancis, the best dwessed woman in Hollywood, throws her furs around, slaps her naughty daughter, runs a prostitution ring, wields a tiny pistol concealed in an elegant scarf, and wears Joan Crawford's Mildred Pierce hair like a champ, but the movie refuses to be saved. Slow pacing, bland secondary performances, and a half-hearted noir script and direction doom it into not-very-interesting b-picture territory.
