Wins for "The Master" make me smile, but "Amour" is uninspiring. Haneke is a miserable, lifeless director.

I do find it fascinating how praised Amour is while Lars Vantier has been over all ignored for making films like Amour for the past 5 years.

Love Haneke and von Trier! Von Trier is just too intense for some people.

I'd say the opposite - they're too sedate (practically comatose) for me.

Hate Lars and Haneke. I gave them both plenty of chances to impress me... they haven't managed to do so.

Have you at least seen Melancholia? Seems to be the Lars Von trier film for people who hate Lars Von Trier.

Woohoo for THE MASTER with a couple of wins. Glad ZDT got nothing!

It's a shame to see Jackson get snubbed for DU. It was his best performance and my personal sup. actor role of the year.

I actually thought Dicaprio deserved a best supporting actor for Django. He perfectly balanced his persona of 'Southern Gentleman' and total sleezebucket.

I disagree with those both you, Cristoph Waltz made that film yet again. He was the best supporting actor in that film period, and I don't care if he played a similar role in Basterds. The dude is amazing. Thumbs up for The Master....needs more wins. Moonrise Screenplay was the best this year.

Either Dicraprio or Christoph Waltz should have gotten an award. Both were amazing.

Matthew McConaughey.....
wow....
yay for the master and amour....

Exactly, I saw that movie and he didn't do much besides play Matthew McConaughey. It wasn't even that significant a part in the movie. I guess he just looked exceptional compared to Channing Tatum, Diesal and Alex Pettyfer in terms of acting chops.

And to think that they gave it to HIM over Christoph Waltz OR Dicaprio for Django. Disgraceful.
