  • Saro (Parlagreco) owns and runs a successful shoe shop in Italy with the help of his incredibly attractive wife, Angela (Finocchiaro), and some other "family" members as a front for the buying and selling of large amounts of cocaine—a fact the police suspect and are monitoring with the hope of bringing down their operation. While unaware that they are under surveillance, business continues as usual and Saro brings the young, headstrong Masino into the business to act as intelligent muscle. However Angela, tired of the mob life and looking for something different, falls for him and begins an affair that threatens to destroy their entire way of life.

    While lacking the overt melodramatics or violence that would push it further toward mainstream success, the well-made Angela is a quietly satisfying film on its own terms.
