As he awakes, he finds that police have discovered the farm and set it ablaze. Mariano inhales a good deal of the resulting smoke and imagines that he sees the Virgin Mary. Word of his vision reaches a nearby evangelist who tells her followers (though she fails to mention that it was drug-induced). Before long, Mariano is approached by a local con man, who intends to use Mariano's experience as a way to make a lot of money very quickly. This Spanish comedy, which features award-winning special effects, had a successful run of the international festival circuit in 2000. [More]
