Now set in Archie's Place, a saloon and takeout counter in Queens that Archie runs with his new Jewish business partner, Murray Klein (Martin Balsam, A THOUSAND CLOWNS), the show still centers on the Bunker family and their friends. Stephanie Mills returns as Archie and Edith's (Maureen Stapleton) niece, while Anne Meara plays cook, Veronica Rooney. Guest stars include Sammy Davis, Jr., Andy Garcia (OCEANS TWELVE) and Jerry Stiller (SEINFELD, KING OF QUEENS), while Rob Reiner and Sally Struthers (as Mike and Gloria) return for the Thanksgiving special. It doesn't have the magic of the original series, but it's not a terrible spinoff sequel. Full Review |
