I like Argo, I just thought that the characters were poorly developed and it was emotionally uninvolving. When M died in Skyfall, I cried like a little girl. Here, nothing moved me one way or another. Django Unchained deserved to win Best Picture. But Argo is still a very well-made movie with great performances and a fascinating story.
ALL THOUGH A WELL DONE - PROFESSIONAL GRADE FLICK - IT LACKED ORIGINAL "TENSION" - THE TYPE OF TENSION GENERATING SCENES IN THIS MOVIE HAVEN'T BEEN SEEN SINCE THE FORTIES .. IF IT WEREN'T FOR THE PLOT THAT GAVE "MOVIE MAKERS" THE ULTIMATE COMPLIMENT OF TRANSCENDING THE TRIVIALITIES OF MOVIE MAKING BY ELEVATING "THEIR" - YES -
"THEIR" ART FORM TO ACTUAL RELEVANCE IN THE REAL WORLD BY SAVING AMERICANS FROM THE TERRIBLE IRANIANS - THIS "PAT ON OUR BACK" MOVIE WOULD HAVE NEVER EVEN BEEN NOMINATED FOR BEST PICTURE - LET ALONE - HAVE WON ! ............AGAIN, WELL DONE - BUT HARLEY GREAT. ......
I will never try to dissuade someone from their opinion on a film, we all bring our own experiences and biases and general headspace to a movie. I simply state my opinions and respect yours. Unless you're an obvious douche bag troll like ________ __________. I promised in the latest die hard thread I wouldn't speak his name again.
I didn't actually know about the original Argo operation in real life, so I found myself at the edge of my seat during the airport scene. The film also had great performances, especially from John Goodman and Alan Arkin. I respect your opinion, though.

Not fantastic....Hollywood version of the truth.
