Dazzling artwork, colorful characters and an intriguing well-crafted story.
“Atlantis: The Lost Empire” captures the same adventure feeling as the classics “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” and “Journey to the Center of the Earth.” Combining an intelligent story with great voices and even a little jovial improvisation – the film wins.
The animation may strike some as a little less impressive than “Shrek’s” - but the style of the film keeps true to the “boys dream” elegance Disney developed in the 50’s and 60’s. In that respect “Atlantis” is both refined and brilliant.
Disney mixes “Atlantis’s” dazzling artwork, colorful characters and an intriguing well-crafted story into a real cinematic treat.
This is without a doubt the best family film of the summer.
It’s rated PG for intense scenes.
